Trump Invites Relatives of Injured Military Soldiers to White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the loved ones of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He added that he spoke to her family and they were “devastated”.

Background on the Devastating Event

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their memory.

White House Offer

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed the press. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Attendees came together over the weekend at the high school in the state to remember Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of Trump’s government program to assist public safety in the capital.

Honoring Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She carried herself with calm resilience, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to assist people.”

Funeral arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Legal Actions and Policy Adjustments

Law enforcement have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the government to suspend asylum processing and cease issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He remains under medical supervision and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey said on a news program.

Attorney general the attorney general stated on Fox News Sunday that she also intended to visit Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from Webster County High in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor informed the gathering at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
