Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last express my sorrow into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he cannot recall "one day without joy".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I think of you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the tragedy, public personalities offered divergent comments.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative statements that were broadly criticized by numerous individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Speaking on his podcast, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and implied they demonstrated a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by proposing that an aide ought to have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
