The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.
The newest action-packed title that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the bad guy, Antón, and came out back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for celebrating violence and insanity with the same excitement, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed narratives. It’s no surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry seasonal program attracted two visionaries whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.
What to Expect
Based on Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the limited anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' style by having a fresh location and ensemble in subsequent series.
Executive Team
Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.
“FX has had excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this beloved property.”
Cast and Future Plans
Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney finalizing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.
“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX family always encourages me with their steady belief and assistance.”
“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology show. Each game is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To create a epic action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of humanity through this multifaceted and chaotic perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to work with Rob and bring our shared bold, visionary approach to the screen.”
A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
