The former president's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance

Young golfer preparing for significant competition

The rising star maintains substantial social media presence

The young golfer will have multiple well-known backers as she starts her professional golf debut later this week.

The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to play at the Annika tournament in the Sunshine State.

The former president, an avid golfer, owns multiple golf courses and frequently plays against his granddaughter.

"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we play competitive games," she stated.

She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"My grandpa basically advised me to play and enjoy myself," she added.

"To me, he's simply an ordinary family member. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, so he's quite busy."

While still amateur, the golfer has played in a mere three competitions recently and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.

But she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, who is dating her mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.

"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, following the flow."

She'll challenge several top competitors in the sport at the competition, including second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.

Tournament organizers commented that involving Kai helps introduce golf to different demographics, especially among youth audiences.

The social media influencer maintains substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive fashion and living brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
