Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match following voicing frustrations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have remained strong in the period after the situation. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
