Franchise leads Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are confirmed to appear in the upcoming Hunger Games film, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
It has been confirmed that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the latest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
A Significant Return to Panem
The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. Industry whispers indicate their appearance will probably be featured in a flash-forward sequence, given that the original saga concluded with their characters living in peace.
This marks the sixth installment in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by author Suzanne Collins. It serves as the second prequel film after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who has helmed most of the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set 24 years before the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the deadly 50th Hunger Games.

- Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.
