Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted this past week, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Complementing the developer's success, its gifted cast also received individual awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team won seven awards during the event.
Additional major winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the audience, with only four awards—Critics’ Choice, Breakthrough, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by experts.
