The United Kingdom is set to progress with employing the entire amount of seized Russia's funds to bolster Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They clarified that the decision would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.

UK restrictions have blocked over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. However, up to this point, funds sent to the Ukrainian government using Russia's funds had exclusively been drawn from gains and dividends earned on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were in agreement in their aim to advance efforts toward using the full value of the frozen Russia's state assets to end the war.

He noted that more restrictions soon would apply more pressure on Russia.

This declaration comes after European Union officials gathered in Copenhagen previously to consider employing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion loan to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump urged international partners to confiscate or otherwise use immobilized Russia's funds, according to news outlets.

The value of immobilized Russian assets in the EU is calculated to be approximately €211bn.
