Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
Honoring the Deceased
Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital comes as the global fight fans shared sympathy for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
